Who We Are
SIMAD University was founded in 1999 with the aim of promoting academic excellence and providing higher education. Through 11 years of unwavering effort and accomplishment, the institution was elevated to the status of a complete university on January 20, 2011. The organization is dedicated to enhancing the standard of higher education in Somalia.
The Student Government Association of SIMAD University, also known as Xukuumada Ardayda Jaamacadda SIMAD (XAJSi), was established in 2014. It is a student-led organization that represents the interests of the student body and serves as a liaison between students and the university administration.
The objectives of the XAJSi are:
- To represent, achieve, and preserve the common interest of the students equally among SU students.
- To promote unity among SU students.
- To promote and share Somali culture, values, and heritage based on the Islamic perspective.
- d) To strengthen collaboration and cooperation between students and university administrations
- To help resolve conflicts and disputes among the students and promote a peaceful environment for learning
- To create awareness and observance of the University rules and regulations
- To boost the creativity, innovativeness, and productivity of students by identifying, tapping, and promoting their individual talents and gifts
- To identify and make known the educational and related needs and challenges that students face and, as far as practicable, source, mobilize and coordinate ways and means whereby those needs and challenges may be addressed.
- To establish, publish and distribute an official student magazine and any other appropriate publications as a platform for students to express their opinions, thoughts, views, and creative talents
- Work towards the betterment of our nation and enhance patriotism among students
